October 9, 2006... Married

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. We went to Eureka Springs Arkansas, and got married in a lovely gazebo in a wooded area. The weather was a perfect 75 degrees and the sun was shining, just like we had hoped!

While planning the quiet little wedding with Jann (who performed the ceremony), she commented that it is "almost too fast and easy" to get married in Eureka Springs. Arriving at the courthouse, cash in hand (no waiting period, no blood tests, no witnesses required), it was literally 10 minutes in the door and back out again with a marraige licence. The ceremony itself was performed behind a big beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast... the gazebo extending out over the hillside off of their huge backyard deck. We met Jann there, paid the gentleman who owns the B&B (he took all the pictures), and proceeded with a simple but wonderfully meaningful 10 minute ceremony.

Then it was off to the honeymoon!

Meet ALEXZAVIER

Meet Alexzavier Lee Howell, born Sept 14th at 8 pounds 3 ounces. He is quite a handsome boy, and my newest GRANDSON. These 2 pictures were taken early in the morning when he was 6 days old. Alex joins his 3 older siblings Jeremiah, Nicole and Zekiel, and his parents Jeremiah and my daughter Emily. Emily decided 4 is a complete number, and will not be making any more grandbabies for me.

John really needed this haircut. I'm no barber, but the clippers did a fair job... and he's so much cooler!

July 30, 2006

Remodeling our house has been a huge project and a nasty inconvenience to us all. When there is work in progress and power tools being used, John is always cooperative with being contained in a safe area. (Although he would much rather be free to learn how to use power tools...)

I will, by the way, post pictures of the remodeling project when it has been completed (let us all hope that's soon!) We have been converting the attic into a large and very cool bedroom, building a staircase, turning Danny's old bedroom into a gym (for the Bowflex), and we cut a large 'window' in the wall to make a very beautiful bar/dining area between the kitchen and living room areas. Brian hand made the new hardwood countertop, and it is absolutely stunning.

July 16, 2006 Daddy Danny's Birthday

Danny and Johnny spent Danny's 20th birthday with Brian and I. It was sooooo hot, but we were all compelled to sit outside and enjoy the evening. While we sat and talked and laughed, John proceeded to become 'one' with the dust and dirt of the driveway.

Before long, he had crawled under Brian's truck and appeared to be 'fixin' whatever it was he found to be broken under there...ha ha.

This brought back stories (which I shared) of Danny's explorations taking things apart when he was a little boy, and of course not having any idea how to put them back together again. Come to think of it, I think I recall that around the age of 5 Danny was grounded from 'using tools' for the rest of his life.
